Join housing and community development professionals for a tour of Arlington, Fairfax and Alexandria's affordable and workforce housing projects that have been preserved, planned and/or produced since the 2019 Amazon HQ2 announcement. During the tour, representatives of the jurisdictions will discuss the connection between housing supply and economic development, regional housing initiatives and collaboration, how they have used new local, state, federal and private housing resources (e.g., local housing investment funds, Virginia Housing Amazon Impact REACH funds, JBG SMITH Social Impact funds, Amazon Housing Equity funds, Virginia Housing Trust Fund, etc.), as well as new partnerships, policies and land use tools and structures to maximize housing affordability, including deeply affordable housing, affordable homeownership and mixed-income, mixed-use and mixed-ability development. This tour is free to registered conference attendees. Space is limited, and a separate bus tour registration is required to secure your spot.

Join us for a walking tour of development projects around the Amazon HQ2. These include planned investments in public parks, transportation, office development, community facilities and housing. This tour will explore how this area continues to expand in response to the building of the new Amazon Headquarters and includes the proposed Crystal City Metro East Entrance, MetPark, new multifamily residential towers and the Crystal Houses affordable housing preservation and redevelopment.
